THE FOUNDER
THE INNER MAP

The inner map
You cannot live intentionally if you do not know who you are or where you are going. Most people were never taught to examine their identity, values, passions, purpose and goals as parts of one map. Without that map, circumstances become the navigation system.
Awareness is where the work begins: seeing yourself and your life clearly enough to question what you inherited, absorbed or drifted into. Self-understanding supplies the map. Build that inner map from evidence → Values help you judge real tradeoffs. Find them in choices rather than an admirable-word list → Direction gives the map a destination. Turn plausible options into a working direction → Alignment is the practical work of bringing decisions and daily life into agreement with both. If you do not know what you want at all, start with the first direction test →
The result is what I call personal coherence. A coherent life is one in which who you are, what you value, what you want and how you live point in the same direction. The distance between those parts is the coherence gap. When a recognizable life feels borrowed from the inside, run the ownership check →
Habits, compulsions and ordinary moments of autopilot matter because they can make that gap visible. They are not the whole subject. They are clues: concrete places where a person can begin asking what is driving them and whether the life being built matches what matters.
What I build
Not a super-app. Not an AI life coach in a beige sweater. Five awareness-related products meet someone at a concrete problem they already recognize, then help turn that moment into observation and useful inquiry. Agent Life belongs to the portfolio as separate agent software.
-
Awareness toolkit · MIXED STATES
Cohesive, Aftertide, Encauce, Lastfold and Moritura connect concrete patterns to deeper awareness. Cohesive Journal is downloadable now; its intervention rebuild and the other products keep their separate redevelopment, specification or development states.
-
Agent Life · LIVE · SEPARATE CATEGORY
Agent software for connecting personal agents to the parts of life and work they need to understand. It is portfolio proof, not an Out of Autopilot awareness tool.

What I am not
I’m a founder and product builder. I am not a clinician, therapist, neuroscientist, or guru, and I’m not interested in playing one. This work can support reflection and change; it does not replace qualified medical or mental-health care, and I say so plainly whenever the subject gets serious.
The tools on this site keep what you type in your browser. Reflection without privacy would contradict the work before it began.
This site measures aggregate page use and two deliberate actions: opening the weekly-note email and following a portfolio route. The event record contains only an allowed event label, page path, interface language and controlled destination label. It stores no email address, form text, IP address, user-agent string, full referrer, advertising identifier or cross-site profile.
Common questions
Who is Alejandro Carbajo?
Alejandro Carbajo is the founder of Out of Autopilot and a product builder. He helps people understand themselves, clarify what they genuinely want, and build a life that fits who they are so they can stop living by default. He writes in English and Spanish.
What is personal coherence?
A coherent life is one in which who you are, what you value, what you want and how you live point in the same direction. Alignment is the work of bringing those parts together; coherence is the result. Read the full definition, examples and five-minute check →
Is this mindfulness?
Awareness is part of the work, but the destination is broader: understanding yourself, defining direction and aligning your life with what genuinely matters to you. Meditation may help some people; it is not the category or the complete method.
